If you haven't already subscribed to one of our Security packages or indeed any security suite, your PC could be under threat. Our friends at IntY have provided us with a link so that you can run a FREE DeskDefender check on your PC. The scan disinfects your PC by searching for & removing:

• Viruses, including use of advanced heuristic scan techniques
• Spyware
• Trojans
• Worms
• Rootkits (which by no means all online scanners can do.)

Please note that your PC must have Internet Explorer 5 or later with ActiveX enabled, to find out more please read the browser requirements and FAQ's.

The file the scan needs to run is about 20 MB which means that the time taken to perform the scan can vary quite a lot - up to 30 mins in some cases, although this is dependant on:

• The power of the PC
• The size of the disk
• How many files it needs to check

Once complete, a summary report will be produced which will detail any suspect software found.
