When I put the CD into the drive, it doesn't run.

This sometimes happens if you are using a CD writer. If you have a normal CD-ROM then try it in that, You can navigate to the CD drive from your desktop and run the application. Failing that you should test the CD is working by running it on a 2nd PC

When I plug the modem into my PC, no lights come on.

Try the modem into another USB port. Remove any USB hubs and try connecting directly into the USB port

If you have another USB device such as a scanner then try that in your PC to check that your USB ports are OK. If successful then you may need to replace the modem but if not then you need to look at your PC in more details

My modem has installed but a desktop icon hasn't appeared.

Try creating the connection manually. If using XP ensure that you choose .Connect using a dial-up modem. if the modem isn't selectable then your modem.s drivers have not installed properly, please uninstall and then reinstall the drivers. When creating the connection set the phone number to be 0,38

I have purchased an Apple Mac computer and now the ST-330 driver does not work.

Most probably the Apple Mac uses an Intel micro-processor. The ST-330 driver does not support Intel based Apple Macs.

I am getting Error 680 - There is no dial tone.

  • Broadband service not activated.
    • The modem status lights will show a solid green USB light and a flashing ADSL light. Confirm that you ADSL activation date has passed
  • There is a wiring setup problem.
    • Ensure that your modems phone cables are secure and that filters have been added to any phone sockets in use by any telephone devices: handsets; faxes, DECT phones, satellite receivers, dial up modems and burglar alarm systems.
    • If the problem persists, remove ALL extension wiring from the BT master socket, and connect ONE filter directly to the master socket. Now connect the modem to the filter and try again. If the problem clears check your extension wiring.
  • Incorrect Username / Password
    • Check your username and password, your username should end with '@gotadsl.co.uk'. Please refer to your Account Details page for these details. Try re-entering your password and connecting again. Correct operation of the ADSL network can be checked using the username bt_test@startup_domain - any password can be used. If this account works, double check your username and password.
    • If connection problems persists please contact Technical Support.
